I have an American strat 50th anniversary that seems excessively noisy. I haven't looked into the issue too much but I could swear that at one point I was looking at the wiring chart from Fender and thought that perhaps it was wired incorrectly.

Has anyone ever had a strat wired incorrectly from the factory?

I suppose anything can happen?

I suppose anything can happen.

Here's one example. My '05 American Series Strat somehow ended up with the pop-in trem block from the Deluxes! I had to swap my screw-in trem bar for a pop-in variety.

Bizzare - right along the same lines.

I'm starting to wonder if the dealer was messing with it and may have swapped out a pickup or two?

Unless you are handy and know exactly what you are looking for I would suggest finding a certified Fender technician and he'll look it over for you. If the dealer replaced the pickup for a cheaper less reliable one the tech will know right away. It maybe a grounding or shielding problem as well. The Fender site has a list of service finders.

Thanks - I downed the wiring diagram from Fender so I plan to check it out when I replace the springs and perhaps the saddles with the new Callaham American CG set.
