Wow, that's a nice looking body. It looks really good with that translucent amber. Normally I wouldnt go for that particular color, but with that grain it looks amazing. I'd like to do it in either an Emerald Green, or the Candy Green like on the Clapton. I was going to do the Candy on the strat I mentioned with the one piece body, but it would have been a pain in the a#@. You cant just get the color, you have to mix a couple different ones, then shoot one color, then another, blah blah. It had taken so much longer than i originally thought, that by the time it was ready to get the body finish shot on, I just wanted it done so I went with an easy color.

I'm assuming the top is mahogany, probably the original top off the body. I wonder if they'd do a different top wood? Like ash, or maybe maple. Either way, I loved the tone on it. Im not familiar with the pickups you use, Ive seen them, and probably changed them, but ive never sat and played them. Are they brighter than a typical single coil? Did you need to go about choosing a pickup different because of the fact it was chambered mahogany and not solid alder or ash? Im just thinking that it'll be a darker tone, although the steel block from the Callhams tend to make the tone very bright and steely, so that would probably midigate it a bit.

Sorry, Im typing out loud. ANyways, yeah, beautiful guitar, great tone.

Danish oil and beeswax, no filler or stain, just years of monthly waxing.

Warmoth will put any top wood on it you like.

Thanksnfornthe kind words. I love this guitar.

Sorry, one more question if you could humor me, id go to Warmoths site, but I left my laptop somewhere, and I have to use my phone that takes forever to load a page.

Are the demensions the same as a typical Strat? They look like they are, but the only other chambered Warmoth Strat body was in a photo. The guy was playing one made from paduk, or whatever its called, and it looked huge
but there was nothing else in the shot I could use as a point of reference, so it could have been that the guy was just really short.

Yeah, it's exactly the same size, interchangeable with any and all Stratocaster parts. That guy must be little.

That really is a tasty looking Strat!

I have a Strat with the same oil and wax finish and love it! I wish mine was chambered though as its a proper weighty beast! :D

Cheers!

Thanks, Andy! I wanted it to have a 100-year-old, hand finished look, like an old cello. It also feels great, as you know. Is yours mahogany as well?

Yep!

I carved mine out of a one piece African Mahogany blank.

If your interested I made a thread detailing the build.

Forum user "The Nutter" has kindly listed all the build threads in one place. The Nutter's Build Thread Listing. Well worth a look as there are some quality threads in there!

Enjoy! :D

Andy, that is completely badass. I even dig the hippie sandwich insert!

I'll go check that thread.
