Yep, looks exactly like any other Warmoth Strat body.

It sounds great overdriven, mimics lots of other guitars, but gets very "Stratty" as well. To be honest, it's the best guitar I've ever played.

Yeah, I'm going to do one. What's the worst that can happen? I don't like it, so I throw a neck and hardware on it and sell it to someone who does. But I think ill like it. I don't want to keep pestering you, but do you have a tremolo or hard tail ?. It must have a good sized block where the bridge is.
Man, I just listened to it again, it would sound great running through a Timmy into a Bassman.

It has a Callaham vintage-style block, GraphTech "Classic" saddles.

I'm an Egnater Artist, so I can't agree that anything could sound better than my Rebel. :)

BTW, the natural resonant sustain of this guitar is remarkable. Warmoth thinks the chambering works best with mahogany, and advised me so.

Mahogany?? Whew!! Bet that's a heavy sucker!!

Well, I posted this in my NGD thread but it kind of fits in this discussion. I ordered a Jim Adkins JA-90 Thinline Telecaster today in natural finish. It's kind of a Fender / Gibson hybrid with a mahogany set neck, SP90 pups and Adjust O Matic bridge. It caught my interest about 4 months ago and I couldn't get it out of my head so I finally ordered one before I got crazier. I'm expecting very good things from it. I played a black one, it's real light which I liked. Not your typical Tele sound.

Hold on just one cotton pickin' moment. Culinary username, guitar built from customised parts, tasty demo lodged at Gravity Music (very nice phrase at bar nine, BTW)... EgFryer, you wouldn't also go by the name of Jim by any chance?

Does that chambered guitar of yours have a ying-yang badge implanted on the front?

If I've got all of that right then the Forum just got a lot more interesting again!

Carry on...

Cheers - C

Not at all: the body weighed 3 pounds, 10 ounces by itself, and is one perfectly-balanced half of a Strat that weighs just over 7 pounds. The Warmoth chambering removes about 30% of the body wood. You barely know you're wearing it

Hiya, Ceri, and Nutter. Yes, it is I. I reregistered to chime in on a thread about Egnater amps (hence the goofy name), and then saw this direct question on a subject I know well, so... There you go. It is my goal to stay quiet, so I don't think the forum will get any more interesting any time soon.

Haha - well I do hope you fail to achieve that particular goal! It's much more fun when the cat is amongst the pigeons. Speaking as a pigeon... :D

Anyhow. Friendly greetings to you.

Cheers - C

I bet with the chambering it's rediculously light.

Ive held MIM strats that would give non-chambered Les Pauls a run for their money in the weight department.

I got to start reading all the comments before I enter redundant statements.
And I really have to review what i post when Im using my cellphone to type it, some of the words the phone chooses for me are stupid. I asked what king of pickups do you use instead of kind. Even the post heading should say Chambered body, not changed body.

I have an Egnater Tweaker and Rebel. I changed out the filter caps and transformers on both, and as good as they sounded before, I felt the lacked character. Now, they sound unbelievable. I dont now why more people dont swap out transformers, the improve on an amps tone MUCH better than installing any NOS tubes will do. And are considerably cheaper too.

Egnater is doing a really good job at coming out with well built, inovative amps, for relatively short money. There are other amps that compete with it, even some from well known amp companies, I have one. Even befor I did the transformer swap, i liked what I got out of the Tweaker than I did with the Transatlantic, plus the Mesa didnt have an effects loop, and it was more than twice the money. Id like to try the 40 watt Tweaker, even if to just be able to use footswitches to change all the contols that you have to do by hand at the amp.

Thanks for not only answering my question; but having a sound clip so I could hear it. I definitely am going to build one. Its going to be a big weight differnece. The strat that I built that I play the most has a one-piece alder body. It looks, and sounds Really Good, but it was heavier relative to the other bodies they had. It seems with Warmoth, you can either get a really nice body, or a really light one, rarely do you see the two together. I almost went with a two piece because some of them were considerably lighter than what i could get for a one piece body. But I had planned on using a 1 piece, and I did.

But a chambered one, and I did see how Warmoth did it (remindes me of the inside of a tackle box), and I could tell it would be really light. Looks awesome though, you can make it so you cant even tell its not a regular strat body.

Just for kicks, here's my best picture of the guitar in question, just before it got the Classic String Saver saddles.
