Steve,

I would think the simplest solution would be for you to take your Strat into a local but better musical instrument store. By doing so, most likely they'll have an assortment of what we call in my 'neck of the woods', "wang bars" and you'll be able to get the proper fit the first time.[/quote]
Wang bars? I certainly wouldnt be visiting any of those bars anytime soon. Not that theres anything wrong with that.

Here's a left field suggestion so don't get mad. Remove the tremendous cover and take a real good look at your block. I bought a 97real MIM strat with no wiggle stick. None of the spares at home fit. Turns out I had a trem block from GFS so I had to order a new one from them. Not saying this is the case but I ended up with a new brass block and arm anyway.

I hate the auto spell on my phone. It should say trem cover not tremendous cover. Too early to proofread.

Just got the present from Fender...this one for the MIM Strat. No go. At least it was free!!! The search goes on...to be continued  :? 8)

Once again, I refer you to my original post in this thread. You would have had the appropriate one a long time ago. :?

I know you think you know everything. On every post I initiate on this forum you seem to feel the need to dazzle me with this knowledge. But every time you do, you are either wrong or telling me something I already know while neglecting to answer my question. Three times now you have posted the suggestion that I go and drag my guitar around to music stores and look through boxes of orphaned tremolo arms. You don't seriously think I haven't done that already? Do me a favor...ignore the posts I initiate. I would sincerely appreciate it.

I have no problem with what Martian says, but there there does seem to be a tendency to either; not answer the question, orlike you said, tell them to bring it to a luthier. I hate that answer, almost as the ones when people say, sell it and buy another one. Its a totally unproductive answer, and I find it, especially the "sell it and buy 'this one'" to be not only unhelpful, but kind of patronizing and insulting.

i still suggest going to the Callaham sight. Look for the replacement tremolo that would fit your guitar, then write them, or see if they have information, about what tremolo would fit that block.
Why havent the other one worked for you? Is it that the threads dont match? or are they are too thick or thin?

How about the arms for the MIM reissues. Callaham have every replacement block for amlost every tremo. Match it up to your, email them and ask what arms go in them, then either buy one of theirs, or use the measurements to buy another. IM TELLING YOU, IT WILL WORK

I just found the original tremolo for a MIM reissue that I had before I put in that I had in a strat before i replaced it w/Callaham, then a KGC brass one. If you message me, i'll ship you the are for it monday from work. I'll use the office shipping so it wont cost me anything. If you want hte whole tremolo, I'll send that. Let me know. I fully believe it will fit yours. the Jimmy Vaughn isjust a modified MIM reissue, it'll have the same sizing.
Oh, dont EVER trust any info you get at guitar center. Ive found myself while in there for strings and such, having to grab a customer that was talking with a sales rep, and clarrify some erronious information they were given. The staff are order takers, not sales people, and excepet for a couple in each store, are very ignorrant of the instruments, unelss its what they play.
Again, PM me a mailing address, and i'll send it to you for nothing. Even if it doesnt fit, but I believe it will, it wont cost you anything anyway

Why would I get mad? Not a prob and a good suggestion. I am about ready to tear the guitar apart anyway and have a gander. I have thought of and interesting possibility...Teflon tape. Who knows what goes in those quiet times of desperation!!!

Have been considering going the Callahan route, but these guitars are pretty interesting, what with the string spacing and all. Guess it's time to quit mucky mucking around, break out the tools, throw all the junk off the work space, and get busy...or just take it over to my amazing luthier. He is a genius and...well...I'm not

Blessings...Steve

Everything has been too thin. I played with a guy last Sunday night who had a really cool sounding...and looking...$@! reissue. Of course the '63 Deluxe he was using might have been part of the equation. I looked at his and it seemed very thick. Then, so did the one Fender sent me to replace the one they recommended. The search continues!!!
