I'm hoping someone on these forums can help me as I've had no luck elsewhere...

I've found a Squier Stratocaster that I'm thinking of buying, but I've no idea where it comes from (or even what model it is tbh) the serial number is 'ic060740079'.

Can anyone tell me what it is? :)

I'd PM Orvilleowner - he is the expert in this area.

Thanks for the kind words, Strataholic. A little research at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squier#Serial_number_tracing

tells me it's from 2006 (IC = Indonesia/Cort).

thanks for the help guys, much appreciated :) ... on a related note is £50 ($100) a good buy?

EDIT: looking at the neck it simplys says 'Squire by Fender' and has the bold wavey Stratocaster logo, any idea what model it makes it? (It doesn't say affinity, standard or bullet)

That sounds like a Squier Standard Strat, but without seeing your guitar it is hard to say for sure. Your best bet would be to check out the products at the Squier website to match up your features.

You could also check ebay and internet retailers to compare pictures with yours.

Good Luck.
