Personally, I'd just play my Strat and forget about the acoustic part. If your amp is footswitchable, go for a clean, strident sound on one channel and something noticeably more rude on the other. Another option is to scrounge around on Ebay or Craigslist for a used Nashville Power Tele. It had a Fishman transducer in the bridge, if I'm not mistaken.

If I where you, I'd get a piezo. I've seen some video reviews on those, they've got a great sound.

I get excellent results using an acoustic guitar.

So do I. Best results of all with that setup. Plug the acoustic straight into the PA mixer and you're in business.

Hi, I have a 96 fender american standard strat. i play rhythm for my church, the problem is we have only 2 guitarists so i have to play both acoustic and overdrive rhythm parts. i feel like the acoustic sound i get is too 'thin'. i own a tonelab st connected to the PA system. what do you guys think? thanks in advance!

Buy a second hand Line 6 Variax 300 - a modelling guitar, secondhand on eBay for less than $300 ...capable of modelling 28 guitar sounds and multiple tunings plus 5 acoustic models, banjo, resonators and a sitar as well as LPs, Starts, Teles, etc......

Ideal for a church/worship situation. The neck is not the best in the world but it does the job.
