I never thought to ask, and can't see it listed; but where exactly on the body is the signature written?. What type of strat is it? If it's a MIM, and you really want that signature to stay, can you afford to get a new body? You can probably pick up a used MIM body from one of the dozens of chop shops on ebay for $150, give or take.
If it's off a Custom Shop, that's another story.
