I just saw this in the store today. The one I played was nice. I wish it came out 5 months ago before I bought my Blacktop. I would have gotten it to satisify my Floyd Rose need in my collection. I do like the chrome humbucker covers better than the black.

I know not everyone is onto Floyd Rose Tremolos, but if I use a tremolo, I prefer a Floyd.

The only things I dislike about the Blacktop Floyd Rose are:

1. Lack of a maple fingerboard option

2. Limited choice of colours

The Blacktop Floyd Rose would look much better with a large headstock and a black CBS-era decal.

+1 (That's a yes to the FR in the poll)

The double locking system has yet to be beat as far as tuning stability with whammy use. The Strat with the FR even looks better IMO, beefier, it just appears ready to rock. :!:

The Floyd Rose trem is hard to setup.

Yes, it is. :| Whenever I change strings on a FR, I might fuss a little about the time/effort that it takes compared to a standard bridge string change, but once done it is sweet. 8)

I have owned guitars with Floyd Rose tremolos since the Eighties. It is nothing for me to change strings and if needed re-intonate in 30 minutes. Just debating on taking my Blacktop in for a trade in on the Floyd equipped one.

Sometimes you can get a better price on a new one when using a trade-in. Of course typically, you don't get as much for the trade as you would by selling it yourself. You could at least ask at the store where you purchased it what they can do, sounds like it might be worth a little extra to you for the FR.

Floyd Rose Tremolo is a good Tremolo system my guitar teacher has 2 guitars with floyds he bought in his Strat that had a Floyd original and a humbucker in a single coil shell in the bridge. i looked up the serial and it turns out its a CBS Era Stratocaster from 1989! when he fixes it hes gonna let me borrow it and i could play around with the Floyd Rose doing squeals and some metal

I think the Blacktop Floyd Rose deserves a third humbucker in the middle position. Fender never produced a regular Strat with an HHH setup apart a small batch of Custom Shop Factory Special Runs.

In my humble opinion the HHH config makes for an extremely versatile guitar.
