Your right but its all personal preference.
Personally I play a lot of blues so I prefer an all nickel string. I have used the Gibson Vintage Nickel's, very Nice strings.

My Hwy1 is in the shop now and when she gets back she will have a set of the Fender pure Nickels on her. Thought I would give them a try.

But you cant go wrong with GHS Boomers. Great strings.

You're absolutely correct, this guitar rocks!! I just got mine yesterday, perfect right out of the case, I typically use d'addario 10's, however, I'm going to leave the factory bullet 250's (9's) on the strat until they wear out. Then I'm going to go with d'addario 9's. After playing my new strat last night, I forgot how nice the 9's are, so last night I replaced my d'add 10's on my american tele with d'add 9's. It really is all personal preference, I have had good luck with both d'addario and fender strings. 8)

Unfortunetly I don't know much about that amp. I would suggest to hit your local misic store and plug into a bunch of amps and test'em out. good luck.

I personally love that amp, If you can't swing a tube amp that'd be on the top of my list!
