Hello,

I was thinking of buying one of these, but don't have the chance to try them out in my local store. How are these guitars? The spec's seem fine to me. Any information would be helpful.

As far as I'm concerned the MIA Deluxe is one of the best production line guitars you can purchase from Fender. I had one and sold it and now regret that decision. YMMV!!

My local GC has one, I play it every time I go in. I like it a lot. That must be some new kind of velcro case in the pic?

You won't be disappointed if you get it. I have an older Deluxe that I just purchased a few months ago. Still wondering why I never got one sooner.

They are great guitars, I bought mine new back around 1999, that's about when they were first introduced I think and it's been a trusted companion ever since. Still my No.1 and has had a couple of refrets now. Here she is:

I have to agree the American Deluxe is one of Fenders best.
I'm not comfortable with the v though and prefer the c. The difference is subtle but does exist so I suggest you try one for a while before you purchase.

My local dealer had a Dave Murray strat, which is also a soft "V". Never played these shapes before, but they are cool. A little bit thicker in comparison to a "C" shape, but just as comfortable.

spending this amount of money, surely it is worth a longer travel time to try one? Either that, or order one in to your local store. That way there is less risk than buying it outright. All the people who commented and own one seem to say it's great, but they probably have different styles etc than you.

Thanks for all the input. I Ordered one through my local dealer. No risks taken, I suppose. ;)
