i recently bought this blacktop strat and i have discovered that there are in fact 7 pickup combinations on it.

Much like on the vintage 3 way pickup selectors where you could get the "inbetween" positions, if you move the blacktops selector switch half way between the first and second position you get a sound closer to a strat neck single coil and if you move it in between the fourth and fifth position you get a sound close to a bridge/middle single coil strat tone.

These positions arent hum canceling and you dont notice as much of a volume drop as the second and fourth positions of the blacktop strat.

Im quite happy i discovered this since i really dont like the sound of the split inner and outer coils.
