I saw this on ebay and was a bit confused. Everything about it looks liggit except I don't remember and of them being left handed. Could this be the real deal?

Paris,

It looks legit but it is missing the 50th Anniversary Laser Etching Stamp above the lead pick up...could be a different pick guard or maybe Fender didn't put the stamp on the lefties, but everything else looks good.

FWIW

Not wanting to be contrary but the american series anniversary did not have the etching on the pickguard only the deluxe had it.
I have seen a couple of lefties on ebay over the years. Can't quite read the inspection tag but it could very easily be legit. If you are really that interested I'm sure the seller would email you with a photo of the full tag and I suspect if it wasn't legit they would not include it. :D

Thanks for the replies. My '04 50th Anniversary Am. Ser. Strat didn't have the etching either. It's cool to know that Fender made some lefties. I'm left handed and had to learn to play the guitar right handed.

Fender did a really great job with these guitars. They look and sound great. The gold lining in the case matches the 2-color sunburst perfectely. The only change I made to mine was swopping out the single ply parchment pick guard for a perloid one.

I stand corrected, did not realize it was only the Deluxe that had the etching.
