Hey guys, I am looking to buy an american standard strat and a guy is selling a relatively new one for 700$ - so im sketching a bit, the serial number is US10210213, can someone help me figure out if this is a standard or if its actually a special or highway 1.

Thanks a lot!

Fender uses those same serial numbers on American Deluxes, American Standards, American Specials, and Highway 1s - although I doubt anyone would be selling an American Deluxe at $700. American Standards are visibly different from the other 2 models in that they have the small headstock and a 2-post tremolo. The Special and Highway 1 look more similar - they both have the large 70s-style headstocks and 6-screw trems; you would have to go by color and finish (Specials have glossy bodies and Highway 1s have satin finish bodies).

Of course you could also email the serial number to Fender's Consumer Relations (consumerrelations@fender.com if I'm remembering correctly) and they can look up the guitar by the serial number.
