hey guys, what gauge of strings would you recommend for my strat? because when i bend the strings (0.09 gauge), the fret wires are easily "scratched".i don't want to re-fret my strat and i want to prevent the fret wires to be over scratched.

Scratched?

I've used Strats for 40 years that were constantly getting scratched. If you're that worried you can put SS frets on. The scratching of frets comes with the territory, if I understand you correctly?

Fret wires wear regardless, string gauge aside, but if you maintain them properly, you won't need to refret so soon. I've had my Les Paul scince '06, & I just recently had them filed & polished & it'll be good for some years yet. The only way to avoid any wear, or scratches is by not playing, which would be a pity. Maintenence is the key.

tires wear out, oil needs changing, brakes need to be replaced, pencils need to be sharpened and frets eventually wear out.

With a strat, the bolt on neck offers a decision point not easily offered by other styles. Strats have bolt on necks and one can often find a new neck for less than a total refret.

yeah, but the neck is the soul of a guitar. Getting a new neck is more like getting a new guitar than getting a new body imo.
