Hello,

I was visiting New York in 1994, during my visit I entered Sam Ash store at 42 st and bought what was told me a "57 maple neck Stratocaster". during the years it was my main guitar, I used to record with that Guitar and go to gigs with it. in later years I bought few more guitars like, CS 69 stratocaster and a 68 MIJ strat but, nothing is even close to that 57 maple neck strat I have.
so I want to learn on where that guitar was built and from what wood and what kind of pickups are on it.

what I have is this serial number: v073486

any info would be appreciated

Corona, California, United States of America; alder; 57/62 re-issue pickups.

Email Fender customer relations with the SN and they should be able to answer your questions.

Another way is to remove the neck and check the date on the end of the neck, same for the body.

~You have the ring! And I notice your schwartz..."

Aw, sorry univib...got a bit distracted there. ;O)
Production year is actually the same year that you bought it....in fact it was completed 9/29/1994 and shipped to Sam Ash 10/2/1994.

All the best,
rob

one more question please, my guitar make buzzing when playing hight then the 12'th fret, the frets around this place are very flat (didn't replaced them since buying the guitar back in 1994) so what are my options ? Refreting the guitar or a different treatment ?
thanks

A luthier might be able to re-crown those frets but if they're too far gone, a re-fret will likely be necessary.
