The list of what the guitar should do has 9 of 11 correct. only two problems left are no sound on the number 5 position on the blender....... No sound on position 5 at all, for #4 on the list, which is suppose to be the middle and outside coil.
position 2 is the same on position 5, the guitar just goes quiet.

When you say "position", I'm not sure if you're talking about the position of the 5-way pickup selector or the position of the blend pot knob.

In your list to me:

1. Bridge only - blend pot has no effect
2. Blend pot on 1 - Bridge
Blend pot center - Bridge & Middle
Blend pot on 10 - Middle
3. Blend pot on 1 - Bridge
Blend pot center - Bridge & Neck
Blend pot on 10 - Neck
4. Blend pot on 1 - Middle
Blend pot center - Middle & Neck (outside coil)
Blend pot on 10 - Neck
5. Neck only - blend pot has no effect

There are 11 check marks I was looking for.

I guess the last one about position 5 and the blend having no effect on the blend did not count.

When the blender is on 5, I get no sound when the 5 position switch is in the 2 or 3 position.
Sorry for the confusion.

Blend pot center - Middle & Neck (outside coil)
Blend pot on 10 - Neck

You didn't mention position 3 in your previous post, so now I'm more confused.

There are 5 positions.

In 2 of the positions (1 & 5) there should only be 1 pickup on and the blend pot should not affect it.

In 3 of the positions (2, 3, & 4), check 3 separate times to see which which pickups are on by tapping with the screwdriver - with the blend pot on 1, with the blend pot center (5), and with the blend pot on 10.

Go through each of these scenarios & tell me yes or no if they work correctly:

5-way in position 1.
Bridge only - blend pot has no effect - Yes or No?

5-way in position 2.
Blend pot on 1 - Bridge - Yes or No?
Blend pot center - Bridge & Middle - Yes or No?
Blend pot on 10 - Middle - Yes or No?

5-way in position 3.
Blend pot on 1 - Bridge - Yes or No?
Blend pot center - Bridge & Neck - Yes or No?
Blend pot on 10 - Neck - Yes or No?

5way in position 4.
Blend pot on 1 - Middle - Yes or No?
Blend pot center - Middle & Neck (outside coil) - Yes or No?
Blend pot on 10 - Neck - Yes or No?

5-way in position 5.
Neck only - blend pot has no effect - Yes or No?

I figured that one of the pickups was one of phase, but that would give you one blend choice that works. None of them work right - they all seem to be out of phase. That makes me think there's something about the way the blend pot is wired that makes the pickups connected to it out of phase with each other, since they work on their own but cancel each other out in the middle.

There's one thing that I never asked from your pictures before. In this picture:

It looks like the solder joints on the Liberator's pot are broken.

As far as being out of phase, SD did say something on the instructions that came with their pups about if you are using a fender pup, to switch their wires ...... I will have to find the instructions and let you know,

I can do a continuity test on the place you pointed to, that is how it came from the factory.

Im going to a party and will not be home all day, but will check back when I get home later on tonight.

Thanks very much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not check the colors that we used, before I just went and posted this here, but I was on the SD site and asked about the liberator and those three joints and I was told they look like that, I did not want to take my strings off and open up the guitar again, just to find that everything is ok, but I guess I will have to, as you feel its important to know.

Thank You for getting back to me with the continuity info and where to check.

Im kinda tired and burnt out from the party yesterday, so I will take the guitar apart first thing when I get home from work tomorrow, and let you know.

Thank You !!
