Thank you so much for posting this before the switch even gets here.....Not here yet, but UPS delivers late sometimes, at least I will be ready and can dive right in !!!!! I hope it fits my guitar, I should have checked the specs before I ordered, I guess I can always route out the guitar, buts its a shame to change it from its original, as its a 60th anniversary special one.

The following is with push pull in down position:

1. No Blender, but sounds GREAT !
2. Blender does nothing on 5, but 1 is much louder
then when on 10
3. same as above
4. same as above
5. no blender
Tone works on all positions.
The following is with push pull in UP position:
1. no blender
2. 1 much louder then 10, nothing on 5
3. 1+10 sound the same
4. 6-10 only on blender to get sound
5. No blender
Tone works on all positions.

I had thought that the blender would have both neck and bridge working on 5, and then you
could sway it one way or the other to get slightly different sound? Most of the time it does not work on 5 at all ???

I am using a Marshall 30fx amp to test using gain, and I have lots of hum on positions 1,2, and 4.

I was not using gain.....it was OVERDRIVE, and when I shut that off and went back to normal use, I did not get any hum......so its the amp.

The blend pot is not in the circuit in positins 1 or 5. That is by design. It is only in the circuit when there are 2 pickups involved - positions 2, 3, & 4. That way, you can have the blend knob set to some position other then center & it won't affect positions 1 or 5 when there is only 1 pickup on.

What does this mean? Is there no sound in the center position?

Go through each position & tap on the pickups with a screwdriver. When it is working properly, you will have this:

1. Bridge only - blend pot has no effect
2. Blend pot on 1 - Bridge
Blend pot center - Bridge & Middle
Blend pot on 10 - Middle
3. Blend pot on 1 - Bridge
Blend pot center - Bridge & Neck
Blend pot on 10 - Neck
4. Blend pot on 1 - Middle
Blend pot center - Middle & Neck (outside coil)
Blend pot on 10 - Neck
5. Neck only - blend pot has no effect

The only difference you should have when the push-pull is up is that the Neck pup will only be the outside coil (instead of both coils) in positions 3 & 5.

90 percent of positions do not work on 5 at all.

I just did a double check...dont have time tonight to do coil test, but with push pull down, you get sound only on one and five, and with push pull up, you get one three and five.

I will do coil test with screwdriver as soon as I get home from work.

Thank You !!!

The list of what the guitar should do has 9 of 11 correct. only two problems left are no sound on the number 5 position on the blender....... No sound on position 5 at all, for #4 on the list, which is suppose to be the middle and outside coil.
position 2 is the same on position 5, the guitar just goes quiet.

I would think just a short jumper somewhere, or change a few wires around and it will do everything and be done !!! Feels really good to be this close to having it done, and I really appreciate your hanging in there with me and seeing this thing through. Its taken me over 9 months to finally get this set up so nice, just the way I wanted it and more. Now if only you taught music theory and voice lessons !!!

Thank You !

There are 5 positions with the push-pull down & 5 positions with the push-pull up. What is the 11th position?

When you say "position", I'm not sure if you're talking about the position of the 5-way pickup selector or the position of the blend pot knob.
