I paid this company 35 bucks to help me wire up my strat, and they have made 6 revisions as whatever they did.....it would not work. Can anyone help me to get the blender to work?

I had it hooked up with an X pattern and it seemed ok in a test, but Im not happy with the other company and would hope someone here can give me some advice;

Thanks for your help

Man, that wiring is all over the place, it looks like an abandoned bird's nest!

From the little I can deduce and for starters, if that wiring job is supposed to conform with the Duncan diagram, your pickup selector switch is not the one pictured in the drawing and you're missing a second push/pull pot. Further, that diagram doesn't even get into a blender pot which begs the question: What exactly do you want the wiring of your guitar to do?

Blimey!

Is that a TBX pot at the bottom of the diagram? If so it looks like its blending the coils on the bridge HB.... ?

Eeek!
As my Kindergarten Teacher always used to say, "neatness counts".

Is that a orange wire nut buried under all those wires?

The blender is the pic on the middle bottom. The mega switch model E is what im using.

I want to be able to blend the neck humbucker with the bridge humbucker. I do not care all that much about the middle original fender tex mex pup. The blender would move the sound forward and backward from front to back. The Push Pull tone knob would split the coil on the 4 wire neck pup, and I would get different sounds for my 5 positions from when its pushed in.

Im taking it to accutech in east hartford and letting the owner larry take a look at it...He is supposed to be good with electronics. What a waste of 35 bucks to the company I paid as they had 5 revisions and it still does not work. Im getting tired of taking it apart and un soldering and re soldering stuff.

Thanks for your trying to help me........its only the blender setup that does not work

Hi ctguy1955: naming no names, but you have a couple of the best wiring brains out there already posted on this thread. The problem is not the knowledge, it is that it is impossible to decipher what's going on with your harness from that photograph. We can't see where all the wires are going and therefore what might have been hooked up wrongly.

You could try posting a whole row of much clearer more detailed photos that show everything we need to know, and then there is a chance someone might be able to track down your issue. Though frankly I suspect this one just has to be tackled in the real world with the guitar right there in front of the technician.

If the guys above can't solve it over the internet then it just ain't going to happen on a forum.

Good luck - C

The diagram shows exactly how I wired it......I followed their instructions to the t.

this is the drawing I used.......the blender does not work, not sure if the push pull is
actually splitting the 4 wire neck coil.

the blender only works from 5 to 10, but not from 5 to 0

Howdy!

Just been pondering this one....

Am I right in thinking that your after the following:

Standard Strat 5 way switching with a coil tap for the neck pup and a Blend pot to blend in the bridge and/or the neck pup?

Andy

The Blender on the left is how I think my strat should be hooked up. dont pay any attention to the other pic on right.

I have the Mega Switch model 6, instead of a fender standard sw.
.....the blender is just for the bridge and neck......

in the middle 3 position on the model E, just the neck and bridge should be on, and now I can
use the blender to have one louder then the other, and the push pull should
give me a different sound.

1 Bridge only
2 Bridge and middle
3 Bridge and neck
4 middle and neck or something good
5 Neck only

this is my idea, but im flexible.

Hi Andy, the 5 position switch is a Mega Switch model E and yes, the blender is for the neck and bridge humbuckers.

Its not a Duncan diagram, its special made for my strat by the company I paid 35 bucks.
The company knew I have a Stewmac Model E, which is what they should be using in this drawing, and the blender is there, with 6 tabs to solder.....they put BLEND in the other photo I put on here. The way they had me wire it, the blender only works for 1/2 the dial.
