What are your requirements for an amp, ie: pro stage use, garage commando, bedroom picker, or......?

I gig with the same amp, and what you have IS loud, in fact I don't think I've ever had it above 4, and that was at an outdoor venue, unmiked.

I'm looking for something a bit less loud, and something with tubes... thinking about a Blues Deluxe RI.

I play through my Hot Rod Series Blues Jr. most of the time. It's only 15 watts, but it's got all kinds of LOUD. Plenty loud enough to play a small club or bar and you can pick one up used for around $350 or so, average, which would give you even more dough for your pedal array.

As far as pedals go, in the distortion/overdrive bracket, I have a Boss Blues Driver that I swear by. Raunchy blues sound (think SRV) and vintage distortion effects are great with this pedal. You didn't mention what genres you play, but if you want that type of sound, give it some consideration. If you're a metalhead, though, Boss's Metal Zone would be better.

I'm not a big pedal-head, so my BD2, a compressor, a Boss Tremelo, and an old Ross noise gate are all I use.

I never get that lucky...

On the wah's though...
I have a Buddah BudWah and a Vox V847...
I use the BudWah mostly for ambient chord stuff and the Vox for doing the screaming blues and rock stuff...

Yes. A non tube amp sounds like a piece of paper, while the tube amp sounds like a nice cup of coffee and a sunset.

    Forget the crap about the coffee and sunset...that's ridiculous!
Have you ever smelled hot tubes and warm tolex?

I'm in love!

:P

That's a gorgeous example of some of Leo's finest work. They just don't build them like that anymore.

RAWK ON!

No personal experience here with wahs. Don't use them. But I believe that Dunlop now makes the Cry Baby wah that Jimi made so famous, back in the day.

Theres a Silver Face (Non Reissue) Fender Twin Reverb for sale. They said i can buy it for 450$. Is it worth the money? Because i dont have that much exp in amps.

If it's in good shape, it's a steal for that price! Ye Gods -- even with a pretty deep discount the modern reissue TR's go for more than $1,000 and original vintage ones in good shape are worth even more.

Hell, even if it has problems, for that price I'd buy it and have it fixed, as long as the problem is repairable.

You could kill 2 birds with one stone and opt for a set up like I have.A Vox Ad 120 VTH with a VC 12 Footcontroller. With that setup I have 60W per channel stereo or 120W mono plus some of the best amp and effects models made. The AD series aren't being made anymore but you can pick up used ones for a song or check out the new Valvetronix VT series.Although the amps are Hybrid they have a tube in the power amp section that gives an authentic tube punch and warmth to all the amp models.BTW the best AD series were the earlier ones with the blue grill cloth.
