Shouldn't be neccessary. Maple boards are coated. Clean it when the strings are off and that should suffice unless the board has been stripped of it's finish.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I've always just wiped mine down after each use with a microfiber cloth. Has worked fine for all these years.

Just clean the finger funk off of it periodically, when you change your strings, using a mild detergent (like dishwashing soap), dry it, and apply any good guitar polish, then buff it dry. That's all there is to it.

I wipe the fretboard down with a dry microfiber cloth every string change, does the trick perfectly.

I've had maple necks for decades. I wipe them now and then and add nothing.

I've never bought a 'guitar' cleaning product or 'guitar' string cleaner or 'guitar' fretboard oil for any of my guitars. All are gimmicks or items you can find cheaper without the guitar label.

Besides wiping down the strings and neck after every playing I use just regular guitar polish on my maple boards-never lemon oil.

Remember, it's a poly finish. Use nothing. Use Pledge. No oils....it would be like using lemon oil on your car.
