I think there is a thread about this in the Custom Shop Forum. Check there for some info.

Perhaps the Moderator could help with this inquiry, relieving us all of a great deal of individual detective work.

Thank you.

I was checking today and I didn't see one.

Another poster mentioned an email address for the custom shop for foreign orders (places where there are no Fender dealers) but I didn't see that either.

Other than getting some help from someone connected to the company as I asked previously, we'll might just have to wait until the 'great ta-daaaaa!' and let them make their big deal about this guitar 'now being available', like they did with the 'new' American Standard. The possiblity always exists that tit will be in the Custom Shop Artist Series which will place it at a higher price point unless they decide to do an MIM version like they did with the Cray the Guy. and the Sambora (which is no longer available.) There are also two versions of the Clapton which is another route they might choose.

Maybe we should all get into the practice of 'chillin out' when they make these preliminary announcements, acting like we couldn't care less. I tend to think the up 'n up's like reading all this jazz. It makes them feel loved and needed.

Hello Stratist,
Thanks for writing in. At this time, we do not have any plans on
making a Kenny Wayne Shepherd model. There have been some talks with
him, but nothing is official. If we ever do make a model with him, we
will post the information online at www.fender.com. We appreciate your
interest, and thanks again for writing in.

Best Regards,

Interesting that, given the video announcement that he was now a signed artist with the company in addition to the fact that, within the past six months a national guitar publication did a piece on him within which was noted that he was touring with a prototype...but, that's 'showbiz'.

The thing that this company really needs to be thankful for is the breadth and depth of its consumer base, many of us going back into the mid-'50's.
I can't help but wonder at Leo, in 1954, as to what his response would have been if someone had shown him a photo of that stage in Chicago this past summer, loaded with all that Fender gear.

He likely might have said, "You wouldn't want to part with yours either!"

its nice to see fender gave you a personal response as well and not just some automated reply that doesnt answer your question.... i've never been into KWS much, but he does indeed have a nice guitar which i would consider giving a go if they were to release one

This is from Ken Shepherd...Sun Feb 24, 2008 10:09 pm

As is the case with all major corporations, not everyone in the company (Fender) knows everything going on. Kenny's first edition of his Signature Series Strat will be released during the summer of 2008, as announced at the NAMM show in January. As soon as the exact date is available it will be posted here (KennyWayneShepherd.net) and on Kenny's MySpace site first. Stay tuned!!!

The first edition of the KWS Signature Series has just been set by Fender for September 1. More details to follow.

Can anyone confirm as to whether or not Fender will be offering a left-handed edition of Kenny Wayne Shepherd's new signature Strat? Or we will be left out of the mix as usual with special models.
