Right now the American Standard Deluxe has the S1 switch working so that when the switch is up it is in regular 5 way mode.
Is it possible to change the switch so that when the knob is up it is in the second mode and when the switch is down it is now in the regular 5 way mode?
The reason that I am asking is that since ( I think) for me I would play more in the regular mode I would rather have the knob down so as there is less change of accidently bumping it down.

The S-1 switch sits flush with the top of the volume control when in the "normal" mode......



You're not likely to "bump it down" absent a conscious effort on your part.

i dont think its possible to hit the switch unless you intend to--it pushes down far enough and with enough effort that a bump wont do it--imo

I suppose you could re-solder the switch to work the other way round.

I have had my deluxe strat for a while now and never hit the switch in error you should be fine
