Hi I would really appreciate if you guys could cast your eyes over these photo's and tell me in your opinion if this strat is genuine, I'm considering buying and am a strat novice. Thanks in advance for your advice.

What's with the reverse stringing?

Anyway - seems fine - this '99 looks just like this one from 2000, but in black.

Definitely play it ahead of time. It's been 'messed with'

I don't recommend a Floyd Rose to anyone unless you are familiar with them or use a guitar tech to change your strings, etc. They are great when set up right but can a royal pain in the butt otherwise.

With so many Mexican Strats for sale, I'd recommend one that is all original. $300 or so for one in good condition. If you aren't pleased with it you can resell it for what you paid. Get one with a Floyd Rose and you've reduced the resell potential.

Stick a $125 Floyd Rose on a stock Fender Stratocaster in my market and you've reduced the value by $50 or so. Folks want their Strats pure as the driven snow.

Looks genuine to me.
