I am starting to play a strat again that I haven't used in a few years. If I wiggle or pull the guitar cable up I get a very loud gunshot popping noise through the amp. I don't think I have ever seen my cat move that fast. LOL

Does the plug retainer need to be adjusted so its tighter on plug head or do I need a new jack? Any thoughts

It's very easy to take out and look at. Could need resoldering or maybe just bend the contact point,,
Are you sure it's not the cord. Good Luck

I'm pretty sure it is not the cord. It is a spiraflex. I never had trouble with it before... although it is a few years old. I will check out the soldering and report back
