One black wire from the volume pot should have a lug on it. This is ground to the body shield. Another black wire on the volume pot goes to the claw for string ground. This wire also goes to the cases of both tone pots, grounding them to the volume pot and, in turn, the body shield and claw.

All of the wires soldered to the case of the pots are for ground. There are several wires on the cases of the pots, one for the trem claw, one for each pickup, one to the output jack, sometimes one to connect the body cavity, etc. Some pickups even have extra grounds (green wires), also soldered to the pot case.
