I read somewhere that there is a cheap an an expensive Jeff Beck Strat.
What is the difference? All I could find on the Fender site is the Artist series.

I don't think that there are two seperate JB Strats. There's only one to the best of my knowledge.

1.) http://products.fendercustomshop.com/pr ... 0150083857
2.) http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0119600805

Seems correct. There is the regular Fender one and there is the Custom Shop version.

Cheers

David

Cheap.. :?: No I would not describe the $2,200 Jeff Beck as inexpensive, $2,000.00 is a lot of money for many people, however in contrast to the Custom shop....Hmmm.

No, the guitar is not cheap.
only cheaper to the custom shop model.
It seems like the same specs in both models, and both have signature.
Is the difference in price because it simply says custom shop?

No...Custom Shop guitars are made in the Custom Shop, everything is handled by a couple of persons and signed of on the Certificate by the main builder, ( in my case Mike Eldred was the signoff on my certificate of my 56 NOS Time Machine.)
The signature series is not as hands on like the Custom Shop but is still a very high quality model.
But if you want bespoke, than it is off to the Custom Shop.

Hey 53 magnatone..
C'est parti mon kiki......
Cette expression n'est pas seulement Canadienne Francaise..
It's a Quebec saying...
Franco Ontarians hardly ever use this
Yet it says you are in Connecticut?

In CT but born and raised in France, that expression is one I remember as a little kid, I overheard my grandmother using it when appropriate....

With the change of verb it is also used just as much as an end
as in C'est fini mon KiKi.

This article does a good job of explaining the differences between the custom shop and non-custom shop versions. http://www.musicplayers.com/reviews/gui ... Bstrat.php

Here is a quote from the article:

As an option, Fender also offers the Artist Series Jeff Beck Stratocaster “Custom Shop” version which includes some manufacturing differences including: two-piece body, same routing as Jeff’s personal instrument (ran on the same machine), Custom Classic bridge with milled steel bridge pieces and steel block, Custom Shop neck fabrication, fret finishing and set-up process.

But before you race out to buy the “deluxe” version of this already quite deluxe Strat, note that Micro-Tilt neck adjustment feature, accessed through the neck bolt plate on the back of the guitar, is not present on the more costly Custom Shop version.

The Beck Strat has been my #1 Strat the last 8 years and is so good I grabbed a back up in white. This is one guitar I would sift through the off the rack models until hitting the right one over going CS. If you look at the old Harmony Central user reviews this model gets the high accolades and the CS model kind of takes its lumps, as a lot of guys who gave reviews owned both models and the non CS came out on top easily. I really cant believe Fender dropped these all the way down to $1,599 which is the bargain of the century!

I bought a Surf Green Custom Shop model. It was so good I bought an Oly White a month later. Definitely my favorite Strat next to the Robin Trower CS which I have in the burst color. :)

Me too. Looks pretty much like the Jeff Beck model, but it isn't.

All I know, is that I want one..

I'm currently struggling to learn "Cause We've Ended as Lovers". In a few weeks I'll have all the notes, but a performance of Beck's quality will take me the rest of my guitar playing career. Just gimme the sig Strat to go with the project!
