Ok guys, I really don't know what I have here, I have obtained this Strat and I play it in Church. I am posting some pics to help someone identify it for me. The thing that bothers me is it doesn't have a serial number on the back of the headstock, where else would it be??
Anyhoo, here's some pics.

Ok, hope these come out enough for you to see them. It has the standard strat markings on the front of the head stock, including the Fender Custom shop insignia. The back is blank and the machine tuners do not have the fender F or any other markings.
thanks for any help

Master Guns, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this guitar is not a Fender Custom Shop guitar. The Custom Shop Never puts the sticker on the front of the headstock...My best guess is this is a Squire Stratocaster that someone has done some Tom Foolery with the headstock. The serial number should be on the back of the headstock on a Squire. Anytime a serial number is missing it should be a red flag that it is not as its advertised.

The Fender Stratocaster emblem on the front is not original. The Fender part is surrounded with gold around the letters and that font does not match the "Stratocaster" wording.

The body looks original and it is not Custom Shop either, probably Squire too, but has a very nice blue finish on it.

If you like it, play the heck out of it and don't worry about its country of origin.

FWIW from a fellow Retiree...AF SMSgt.

Seriously, though -- as "Tango Two" mentioned, it looks like a nice guitar. Very pretty in fact. If it plays and sounds comparable to the visuals, keep it and enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks Guys, well I didn't pay anything for it, so guess that makes it alright!! I really liked that pic of the marine with the M-60, wow that brought back some memories!!

Hey it plays really well, now if I can just find some one to pack my amp back and forth, maybe I can get the Church to buy one

Darn near getting to old to ride my Harley.

People who makes and sell them as the real deal should be beaten' with a stick.

I've mades of Fender guitars, but I tell everyone they are copies and not the real deal.

People who don't see riders on the road and almost cause them to wreck should receive the same treatment as people who try to sell real Fender guitars as real.

Gunny, that guitar looks really nice. I am sorry it is not what you were hoping for. Play the hell out of it though!
Afterthought, it is nice to know we have so many veteran members, sharing an interest in the fender stratocaster! Retroverbial, you know, that we know, that if you use the term "pogue", you must have been in the military yourself. Here is your recognition... :D
