Just bought a Squier bullet strat. Received it Sat thru the mail. Tried to tune it and there seems to be a buzz, sometimes on the e-a-d strings. Is this normal with a new guitar, and will it work out as the strings stretch ?

Thanks,
Bill B

Some times the neck needs adjusted from the shipping from hot cold and so on. Fenders website has some great support for setup.

often when transporting the guitar the change in weather conditions will change the set up of the guitar, the buzz may go away as the frets ware in as well as the strings, i suggest you get it re setup or do it your self if you know how and know wat you want... ( my first guitar was a squier, and i do recall it buzzing for a couple of weeks before the frets bedded in...)

Agree with a simple setup. I don't understand the comment about the frets wearing in though?
It is a simple task to see if there is an appropriate bow in the neck. Put a capo across the strings at the first fret and press down the E string at the last fret. You should quickly see if there is relief. As mentioned previously, Fender has great info on the web site and it is not hard to make simple adjustments. It is a great way to learn and will help you in the future making it "just the way you want it". Turn a few screws and Leo Fender will be proud of you.

ive re fretted a few guitars before and its almost like a new set of strings, when you first play it its a bit twangy and after a few hours of use its in its "sweet spot" the stage you wish that it would remain in... just with frets, that sweet spot tents to last a couple of years... unless u wind the hell out of it every day...

its very suttle though... if the guitar has been given a good set up then it should play perfectly...

+1 on setting it up your self, i dont see how any guitarist shouldnt be able to set up a axe themselves... its not rocket science...

Never knew that about frets and have never done a re-fret job. Good to know.
Thanks
