I have them in mine: Area 58s in the neck and middle; Area 61 in the bridge.

I'll expound on them in no particular order:

Tthey are dead quiet, equal in output to typical OEM Strat pickups, nail the Pre-CBS era pickups for which they are named after, have great sustain and note separation and because of the VV design, low string pull, so you can raise them close to the strings without having to worry about, "Stratitis". The price is right and you don't have to change the OEM pots for them to, "do their thing". They fit easily and perfectly into the pickguard and guitar; the polepieces line up with the strings. They are built extremely well and DiMarzio, Inc. is extremely receptive to your questions and/or comments. I've also owned Fender and Duncan stacked HB sets and a couple of Kinman sets (which are supposed to be the ultimate in stacked Strat HB pickups) so I have many good points of reference. IMO, after all is said and done, the DiMarzios are simply the best out there.

If I could mary a pickup, the Area 58 would have my babies.

All kidding aside, I am extreamly happy with the Area '58. They sound like the best single coils you ever heard, but are dead quite. My house is very electically noisy and they are much quieter than the humbuckers in my Les Paul.
Other "noisless" pickups I have heard tend to sound more like humbuckers and you loose that single could bounce and low end bite.
These have it in spades.
