I had heard of the Fender Custom Shop "Ike Turner Tribute" Stratocaster but I had never seen one. I just came across one of these guitars on eBay and on first inspection the neckplate doesn't look right. Also, this tribute guitar is modeled on a 1959 Daphne Blue and Ike Turner's "blue Strat" was a 1961 Sonic Blue! What's up with that? I could be wrong but this is the blue Strat that I always see him with in pictures and it's a 1961 Sonic Blue:

I'd like to beat Ike Turner up.

He belonged in prison for what he put Tina through.

It would be the ONLY Stratocaster in Fender's catalogue that would smack the heck out of you and verbally abuse you if you didn't play it good enough!!!

Hold your horses, gentlemen.

I really don't understand tributes or signature models. All of their guitars started out as a base model guitars that was modified. Some more than others. Fender makes these guitars, puts a high price on it, and people buy them because of a namesake. Buy a base model and modify it yourself. If you don't know how, I'm sure somebody on this forum could make it happen for you.

I would rather say, "my guitar has the same pickups as the Eric Clapton model", or "my guitar has a gold left handed bridge like the SRV model", than to spend the extra money to buy one of these expensive models.

I used to have a Tradition Michael Batio No Boundaries Signature. I didn't buy it because of the namesake. It was pawn shop guitar that I paid $275 for. It didn't matter that it was a signature model or that his actual signature was on the back of the headstock, but I guess it did matter to the thieves that stole it. I bought it because it played good.

Peace.
