Long time from the last time here ......
Again here with a new Am stand from 2010, wonderful guitar , tone and playability, just one thing that is boreing me is the weight of the guitar around 3,55 to 3,60 kilos or almost 8 pounds (7,9lb). I already change the straps but for playing stand for more than 1/2 hour became to pain my back. I had one that I sold in 2008 just because the weight !!!

Is this the average weight for the new american Standarts? I´ve bought from internet so I coudn´t try before.
So i´d like to know from you guys how much weight your guitars, just to know if mine is on the average !!

All of my Fender's are heavier than my Les Paul

I've a Tele weighing around 11lbs. Two of my Strats are 10lb each.

I think for someone in your situation (and I fully sympathize having a bad back myself) that your only option is to go try different Strats in a real world shop. Weights can vary wildly. All of my Strats are Alder (2 piece bodies), which supposedly doesn't vary in weight like Ash does. Yet both Strats weigh just under my Tele, which is Ash and heavy.
Ya can't predict it mate.
