Stipes-Mills went overseas for a JM production Black One and I notice that, after all of the exorcising over the LTD number 500, I see in the Artist Series listings as 'new'. Now it seems that anyone on your block can have one. It's a shame we had to beat each other to a pulp over this.

I emailed Stipes on this and put the question to ME on his Forum as well.

Might now get a chance to play one to see if all that Jones Beach PR video was what it claimed to be.

I like to day dream, so I look through the products listings pretty often and this is the first time I've seen it. I don't think it's been there very long. Maybe they couldn't sell all 500.

To the contrary.... they did just that, and rather quickly too. One of our number, who also owns one of the '83' Masterbuilt guitar, had to purchase from an overseas seller in oder to acquire an SE Black 1. In fact, he ran a thread on that venture.

Mayer's Black One LTD has always -- repeat, always -- been on the Fender product page listed as new, near the end, not with his other sigs. No big deal, guys.
