I purchased a new MIM Standard HSS Strat and felt the humbucker tone wasn't what I wanted, and replaced it with a DiMarzio PAF Pro which is really hot. I'd like to upgrade the neck and middle pups to enhance the glassy shimmering sound of the guitar but am confuzzled by all the choices out there i.e. Cool Rails, DiMarzio Area 67, Sensor Lace and others. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Have you taken a look at the "Fender Hot Noiseless Pick-ups". They would be in sync, output wise, with your PAF. They are wound more than usual and have a bit more mid-range girth. Another helpful tool can be found on the Seymour Duncan web site. It has this one section called "Audio Sampler". They have a divers listing of pick-ups, which you can listen to, so as to get an idea of what you may want place in your guitar.

I to have a MIM HSS. So far I've put a Seymour Duncan P-rails in the bridge, and maaaaan, now that thing does more than "Habla Espaneol." I have a good solid humbucker that digs in when it's time to get dirty, and the P90 is this wonderful single coil which sounds like it works out at the gym. Now the rails PU, which SD regards as a SC Strat like bridge PU is weeeell... Ok, to the trained ear of a true SC fanatic, the rail position may not be to their liking. It doesn't have the same chime and bounce, but not saying it's not a bad deal. Give me a minute to explain. Being born and raised on SC's, I notice the difference. It has the Strat-like SC bridge tendencies, but with more body, bottom end, a tad more mids, and it pushes distortion better than a normal SC. Personally, it's the SC bridge PU I've been looking for. It's not humongous difference, but like I say, to the trained ear you'll notice. Good luck Bro.

I think I'm going to go with the DiMarzio area 67's. They just have an awesome tone. Thanks for all your suggestions.

BTW, you have given me even more to think about. I'm surprised no one has said Fender Sensor Lace. That would give the guitar an interesting contrast in tone between the two single coils and the humbucker.

I didn't say lace sensors because I plan on using them myself LoL ! N Fender didn't make lace sensors for the record.. They used Lace Sensor pickups (lace being the manufacturing company) in their Strat Plus model which brought about the rights to label them as their own pickups.
