I have a Marshall Haze MHZ40C. It has digital effects, digital reverb, and an effects loop. The reverb and effects knobs have off positions that are true bypass, and the effects loop has a button that puts it in true bypass. If any of the 3 are used it changes the signal path from an all tube signal path to a tube signal path with digital effects in the path.

Qustion: Does this defeat the whole purpose of having a tube amp?

I notice that some tupe amps are not "all tube", and some are.

Question: What does all that mean?

This amp has two channels, one with a gain and volume, and one with just a volume. This seems to allow my to get very nice clean sounds on the channel with just volume, and very nice high gain sounds on the channel with both gain and volume without having to turn it up too loud.

Question: Is this the reason for having the two channels?

I have read that an amp is an instrument too, and it should be set in conjunction with the guitar settings, ie: volume, tone controls, etc...

Question: Where do I start in learning how to do this?

Question: Do I just start randomly setting stuff, or is there some type af guidlines?

Anyway, I can hear the difference between tube amps and solid state amps, and I think tube amps sound very nice. They certainly cost more, but I think it's worth the money to get that very "pleasing to the ear" sound.

No, some people put an overdrive/dist.pedal in front of the amp, some put several FX in the loop, that adds tons of silicon in the path.

Amps have a preamp(overdrive/distortion) and a poweramp (loudness/volume).
On some amps the preamp uses transistors, some amps uses transistor in the power amp stage. "All tube" means preamp and power amp both having tubes only.

Yes, but some people only use the normal channel by pushing the amp really hard.

Use your ears, that´s the fun having a new amp.
