I have this guitar that I bought about ten years ago whilst I was working for a startup company in Edinburgh. Like many startups, cash and champagne was flowing.; the chief technical officer of the company I worked for was a massive guitar freak. We used to spend many a long liquid lunch debating music, guitars and cars. He was a Hendrix fan.

After such a drunken episode we passed a music shop (cant remember the name), but it was off Meville street in Edinburgh; in we walked and I spotted this. My friend was a much better player than me so he demoed it. I just said "I want it" and bought it.

Then after sobering up I thought WTF is this yellow monster I have bought.

Its been sitting on a stand, played about ten times in ten years. Its absolutely mint, with hard case.
I have researched the net, but come up with little. I believe its a USA 1989 Fender Stratocaster Plus, with Lace pickups in Graffiti Yellow.

I dont want to sell it, but would like to know its value for insurance purposes.

These pics are grainy, I can post better ones if any one wants.

Thanks.

That's a strat plus. They were made by fender from 1987-1999. Here's a page on them http://xhefriguitars.com/page2.html.

I've seen them anywhere from $650-$850 (i believe they were around 1100 new? I could be off). My friend has one that he bought at a pawn shop for $800, and I almost bought one for $650 the other day. Have fun with your new guitar

I really, really like that color! That would make a great addition to my collection. I might have to go looking for one. Thanks for sharing!

Hi jamun: just for information's sake, that website that poxenham has linked to is the ideal place to find out about Strat Plus, Ultra and other similar models. It is run by "xhefri" who is also a Forum member here: I think most would agree he is the world expert on these particular models, as well as much else.

He's also very nice and helpful and willing to answer questions here or on his website, so don't be afraid to ask, if you want to know more about your guitar.

Meanwhile, the valuations already given sound about right to me.

Love that guitar: play it more often, is my suggestion! :D

Cheers - C
