Dear MyStratocaster-

No.

Sincerely,

Fender

Just kidding...I think an American Blacktop would kind of defeat the purpose; it's my opinion that those guitars were geared and marketed towards the punk and indie rock crowd (generally younger and needing a lower price point). Just different enough (in looks and tone) that they're not exactly like a classic Fender, bur familiar enough that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in family photos.

in my opinion, not everybody like the sound of classic stratocaster
many people like the neck profile and also the shape (it is comfortable :D)
use another brand such as charvel, jackson ?
not all people like us FR bridge
it's complicated when we change the string, or tune it

I'm no doubting that other types of players want a guitar such as the Blacktop series. If I were in need of a guitar with humbuckers, it would be on my list. I didn't even think about guys who would play a Jackson or some other superstrat type of axe (probably due to the lack of Floyd Rose).

I don't know how successful other American-made dual HB Fender guitars (like the Big Apple Strat), but that might be why these guitars are imported instead of making them here.

I own a blacktop. Very versatile guitar, sounds phenomenal rock, blues, or metal. Check your prices, they are just as expensive as MIM standards now.

Don't let country of origin sway you from this guitar.

maybe fender can take all guitarists on the world, if they can make all types guitar that people want, lol

in my opinion, many guitarists use fender
almost all genres :

john mayer for jazz
yngwie for neoclassical metal (he has changed the pickups, single coil is too weak for his styles)
dave murray for rock (once again, humbucker is also important)
SRV for blues
jim root for metal (he also uses humbuckers )

Why? Do you think Mexican built Fenders are inferior? They certainly are not.
