hey. just picked a new standard (meixican) strat today. Lake Placid Blue (HSS) here at my GC, the sales rep said they (meaning fender???) are discontinuing the rosewood board on them. I got mine for $300. has anyone else heard this?

No had not heard that! Need pics, especially of anything in LPB!

Congrats on the new guitar. Have not heard Fender discontinuing rosewood on MIM Standards or on the Lake Placid Blue color for that matter.

the guy said rosewood boards. maybe it is a GC thing? either way I got a great deal. I am going to throw a DiMarzio Breed in the bridge p/u spot. and maybe some area p/us in the neck and middle spot. Also throw on some sperzels and change the bridge out too. Looks like I have lots of work to do.
