hey.

i just realised that when i try to thread my tremolo arm into my MIM strat it goes in at a really weird angle. i used to be able to screw it in and it would go in straight but now when i put the arm in it tilts weirdly. when it's fully tightened the white tip is touching the guitar's body. is this a problem? did i screw something up? and if i did, will i be able to fix it myself?

thanks.

Look at the threads on the bar and see if you stripped them, if you did you probably damaged the block under the bridge as well. I have an American made strat, in the hole where the whammy bar screws in, is a little spring that can easily fall out if you tilt the guitar. That spring is a spacer for the bar. If yours fell out it may be the reason why the bar hits the guitar when you screw it all the way down. Just back the bar off a few turns so it don`t touch the guitar. I believe you can buy those springs at a local dealer.
