Eric also disliked the TBX thing because he found the tone too mushy, that's why the treble boost/cut circuit has been removed from his personal axes and replaced with a standard tone control. But he agreed to have the regular artist and teambuild versions of his guitar with the TBX.

Of course EC still uses Lace pickups mostly for slide playing, with the only exception being the Tsunami Relief bash held at Cardiff in late 2004!
