Hello,
I have noticed on the Elderly site that the American Standard Strat in 3 tone burst and sienna burst both seem to be build with a one piece body.
Is that usually the norm?

I have just noticed on the Fender site that some clearly show one and even two joints.
Is it harder to find a one piece body in these non opaque colours?

Hi Ronald: one-piece bodies are unusual, especially under solid colors. These days cuts of wood big enough to make one-piece bods from are usually snatched by the Custom Shop - so we are reliably informed.

Care to link to that Elderly page for us so's we can see? It is not impossible for it to be one-piece, but usually if you look very closely you can find the seam down the middle where two planks are joined. Nothing wrong with that: the skill is in doing it well so that it is visually appealing.

Cheers - C

What Ceri says is right-a one piece body is more of the exception than the rule however there are artisans who are so skillful in matching grains that the joins are almost inperceptable.

Hi Ronald. With the site in question showing in your browser window, right-click on the address bar and choose "copy" from the drop-down menu. Then "paste" that address into a post on this site. Like this:
