I had a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. in the bridge of my Strat for a while and then replaced it with the noiseless bridge PU I had in there previously. Now when I play with overdrive or more on the bridge it begins to howl like a wolf. Not like feed back, but a serious howl. Is there something else I might have missed during the installation. It was just the hot to the switch and then ground the black. I never had a problem switching PU out of it before. If anybody can tell me something, I would appreciate it.

Welcome.

You're pickup is "microphonic". This is a common occurrence and happens when a pickup's
coil(s) and/or hardware vibrates when the guitar is played at loud volumes where the guitar's sound from the amp literally penetrates back into and agitates the pickup.

The Vintage Noiseless pickups are extremely fragile where if you look at them the wrong way, they fall apart. If you are lucky, having the pickup repotted may solve your problem. Oftentimes, the pickup is too far gone to where it is not even cost efficient to have it repaired.

Thanks Martian for the feedback. I never thought such a thing could happen to a PU. Well, I can count that one as a loss. I've been meaning to check out that hot noiseless PU anyway. Thanks again for the info, and I hope to interact with you guys in the future. Peace...
