Sonny Landreth has some unique Strats with Tele rear pickup and reflector plates installed. Has anyone ever seen any material regarding installing this mod.? It doesn't appear as though it would be a difficult installation. As long as the string length is correct and the height of the Tele plate & pickup were close...you could always adjust the exact height and string length as you do on any guitar. It was mentioned that Landreth always opens at The Crossroads concert. He's very reserved and calm but his vocals combined with his advanced slide work would warm any crown up. With that Tele rear pickup his great steel playing really cuts through the mix. Also, I'd never heard a pedal steel player play blues so well as Robert Randolph with The Family Band. I've played Country from time to time when gigs called for it. Steel players that I worked with then, no matter how talented, could not hold a candle to what Randolph does. He's amazing. I bought that Crossroads 2010 DVD by mistake. What a lucky mistake. I'm going to buy more good concert DVD's as a learning tool.

All I know is that Sonny has one of the most innovative slide styles ever...and he can rip it up on regular picking also, the guy is fantastic.
