Hi from Finland,

I'm a proud owner of a ten-year-old Roadhouse Strat with Texas Specials but want to make it sound more jazzy. Any hints for right pick-ups and strings?

What kind of amp are you using? I can get decent jazz tones w/neck pickup and a Blues Deluxe. I also have Texas specials.

You should be able to get great jazz sounds with what you've already got.

Neck, neck+middle and keeping your tone clean is about it.

Yup, that'll do it. The rest of the job is attitude and technique.

Hello Six Stringer,

You may like to try a set of flatwound strings.
I use D'Addario chromes 12-52 on my SG,
I like the tone I get out of them.

Best of luck.

Get the Fender G-Dec amp. Fantastic and you can make your strat sound rock and roll, Jazzy, or Latin. Twist of the dial and it sounds totally different.
