Hi everybody, I'm about to buy my first strat and can't decide witch to buy.

I'm looking for the roadhouse or the 50's classic players or another giuitar in that price-range.

I want maple-fingerboard, s/s/s configruation, and V-shaped neck (if possible), i play mostly blues like srv, clapton and BB king style.

Any suggeston what to buy?

Thanks in advance. :)

Sounds like you already have a very good idea of what you want. The V neck can be found on a number of guitars as an option and the maple fingerboard will be an easy thing to find. Personally, I'd go to guitar shops and play those that look like they'll fit your requirements and take home the one you like the best.

I was looking for a V neck guitar a while ago and the guys at a large guitar center brought over a Clapton. I had been playing a C neck Deluxe. I liked the pickups on the Deluxe far better (I love noiseless) but I know a lot of people hate the noiseless pu's. That's why I say to go play them. It's not something that I'd feel comfortable doing ordering off the internet sight unseen.

Don't worry too much about he first one, you will buy others. Just don't sell any of them otherwise you will always want them back.

The Classic 50's is a great guitar. The neck feels really nice, and the pups sound great. I reckon it would fit in well with your musical tastes as well. I was playing one just yesterday, and was really impressed with it.

A Jimmy Vaughan model will fit what you are looking for perfectly. Played one ofter at the store finally decided on an American Special, but the Jimmy Vaughan was great also.

The jimmie Vaughan sounds good but I for some reason don't like signatures, they doesn't feel "mine" and I don't like that the bridge pickup is much hotter than the other. And my local musicstore isn't that big so i can't make them to take in to many models :)

The last time I went Strat shopping I made it a point not to look at the model or where each Strat was made.I picked up a maple V neck Olympic White model and it spoke volumes to me right away-it was a Jimmie Vaughn.I picked that over Strats costing more than twice as much.I play mostly blues,Hendrix and Classic Rock and find the JV to be well suited for all these genres. The V isn't as pronounced and uncomfortable as it is on some models so it's a great player in addition to sounding great.

You might want to look at the Road Worn '60s and '50s Strats and Teles.

By the way Teles make great Blues guitars.

I would go with the roadhouse because that's what I wish I had gotten. Maple fretboard, out of the box with texas specials that they use in the SRV sig strat, a tortoiseshell pickguard that I really like.

I really don't like the finish of the roadworn but I might check the roadhouse again. The only thing is the v-neck, I havent played V-neck what i know but I think it would be right for me, I can just take in one guitar to my shop so i'm a little bit confused, hehe :) I hope i find one V-neck in some store and some guitars with the pickups, I don't have much singlecoil experience so I can't decide before I've played both of te PU's

If you've never played a V neck Strat, then you simply need to play, play, and PLAY as many Strat's as possible. You may not like the V neck. I love them personally, but there's a reason that most Strat's have a C shaped neck. You might prefer the C shape.

The MIM 50's Classic series will definetly fit your requirements, now I am not talking about the 50s Classic Players Series, I am not a fan of the two point tail piece on those...I prefer the 50's class series because they use the tried and true vintage style tail piece and if you want to get classic blues sustain, then the 50's Classic Series Strat is the way to go.
