+1 on the Boss...if money is an issue might I suggest a Delta Lab Reverb...they are inexpensive, have great sounds, and are very well built...I played thier reverb and chorus and got the chorus since the reverb in my Super Reverb is so good.

FWIW

i have to say; I currently have Boss RV5 on craigslist Im dying to get rid of, I think its the worst sounding reverb ive ever used. I traded a EH Holier Grail to free up board space, regretted it ever since. It sounds SO processed, terrible reverb IMO. The holy grails, while being big, and noisy if you're using the same power brick, sound good. Im using a Ghost Echo now, it would be great for surf, it is influenced by pick attack like a real reverb tank is.

You need a Delta Labs DD1 delay and some Reverb. That's about it.... Look up some of Dicky Dale's rig set up.

Short of getting a tank, next best thing is a VanAmps pedal, then a Lee Jackson Mr Spinggy.

Reverb or slap-back echo is a must for surf music and I suggest that you try out the Electro Harmonix models, there are several of different price range and options. The wah really isn't a surf effect,a good tremolo or vibrato would be better suited but tremolo would be my first pick. The Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo is a great pedal and retails for only around $50 and the Vibe pedal goes for about the same amount.

With your budget I'd look at a multi FX to start of with.
Later look into a Dano Spring King, it is a awesome reverb unit and fairly cheap.

Well, its probably out of your price range, but many of the guys over at the surf guitar site like the Boss FRV-1 pedal... Here's a link for this pedal at the Boss site:

I dont know if you're serious about $10, or you meant $100. If you have short money, look at some Danelectro pedals. Their cheap, and some people swear by them. Im using a Ghost echo, and it would be perfect for that sound. Its reverb, but can be adjusted so it responds to pick attack. The harder you hit, the harder the reverb, and can do slapback. VERY similar to a reverb unit i have that i just put together from pieces of 3 broken ones.

I dont know why everyones mentioning the pedals they are, because all are well beyond your price point.
