The only reason one wouldn't would be if the frets were leveled because of wear or refretted. Other than that, they all come new with 6105 fret wire.

I have the 6105 frets on a '59 from Wildwood,it's taken me a long time to get almost used to them, for chords they seem to be great but lead work makes them feel like crossties on a railroad track. :D
I still think I might have them replaced for the medium jumbos or vintage frets.

I hear ya.6105s requite a lighter touch , especially doing slides. The regular hamfisted grip just wont work.A good setup helps too.

6105 fret wire are tall and skinny, it makes it harder to slide into notes especially multiple
stringed notes. it just takes a while to get used to.

bending and vibrato are alot easier though.
i do find on my srv strat, i have to adjust the eq to remove some off of the top end.

i too prefer medium jumbo and vintage frets.

TGS is probably looking at us like a bunch of wimps... .

I have a 59 thinskin from them.I like the profile of the SRV neck. This is supposed to be a SRV with a 9.5 radius and a slab rosewood board.Great guitar though, especially the white blonde.

You bunch of wimps...

Just kidding. Actually, I'm down to regular .10s now since my Strats either have vintage frets or medium jumbos that have been worn and leveled several times. I think bigger strings work best with bigger frets and vice versa. I can't wait to get my neck with 6105 fret wire, then I can finally start playing with some heavier strings again.

No, it was in the regular Houston store. I guess it is on the west side though.

Actually, even as long as I've been playing and with callouses on my fingers, the 6105s make my fingers sore if I play it for an hour or so.
I'll probably have them replaced.

Well, I was the only girl who made it to the finals so that was most likely me. Small world. :)
