Yeah, it's in production for NOW. Me thinks Fender is phasing it out after they released their "Special" line. IMO the Highway Ones are far superior to the Special series. If someone is reading this and is in Fender's brass, bring back the Highway One and ditch the special. Original highway ones also had way cooler finishes, i.e. Daphne Blue and Honey Blonde.

my local stores have been told they wont be getting any more HW1's in until further notice. they said from past experience this is how models are phased out. yet they are getting the specials in like crazy. this should tell anybody thats reading this something.
i have mentioned this to the mod several times on posts dealing with this same topic, no reply at any time.

I think it will be a pity if the Highway One Series be discontinued. This is a grate eletric guitar and has many qualities if compared with another eletric guitars.

ahh, right down the pisser. I love the nitro finish, something you have to pay extra for, i.e. fender vintage, NOS, or Custom Shop. And the Highway One basses are waaayyy better. Badass II bridge, the specials have the "vintage" bridge, which means no sustain. My shop has a Jazz bass and I'm hoping I'll be able to snag it before it's too late. Also, this is just and observation, on eBay, you will barely find any used Highway Ones, only the still in production colors, like black and sunburst, I guess the people who have them don't want to let theirs go. I somehow see Fender 20+ years from now making this a reissue, and the originals price will skyrocket, especially the early productions were they had the 50's and 60's smaller headstock.

Amen to that, if only I had enough cash for the things I need! (or want, but in my eyes, I like to think I need them  )

I love mine, which is the later model Highway in honeyblonde.

Fitted it Seymour Duncan alnico 2 Pros, and polished it up.

But I have to say I loved the 2 Specials I've tried as well..

The first year production was great.. the first few years actually. Then I lost interest in them.

Do they still make the Highway 1 Texas Telecaster? That was a beast.

Nope, I think that was discontinued in 2008 or 2009, sad to see such great built guitars get taken off the line.....

You mentioned this once before and I was surprised to hear it, but I got a new AMS catalog in the mail the other day and next to the Highway 1 it had a caption that said "order now, supplies limited" or something to that effect. So apparently it's true.

Yeah, I noticed that on mine too, luckily I found a website guitar shop that isn't so hot... so they still have some new honey blonde tele's in inventory, most likely there from 2004 or 5, still, pretty cool to get a 6 year old brand new guitar...

AMS? yeah its a shame to see them go. i love mine and will ALWAYS keep my eye
open to them when i see them used. i honestly believe as i stated, fenders best bang for the buck. i love my deluxes ok dont get me wrong, but i really love the HW1's.
they seem to fit my hands very well. i look at them as the gigging mans guitar.
(relible and they sound/play great) you can depend on these guitars in any situation.
i honestly cant say that ive played a bad one. lots of folks complain about the bigger headstocks. lol. im to busy playing to notice them. you can count on fender doing a reissue on these guitars at some point and jacking the price higher than a camel's azz too.
lol thats how they do it.

Hmmm....
Plain and simple......I LOVE them!!!
It would be a pity if they discontinued them!
They are such great feeling, looking, and after a few choice modifications (personal choice) they are amazing sounding instruments!!
The guitars play nice and loud acoustically...and look cool as heck!!
I LOVE the big headstock!!! All my heroes had them!!

Long live the Highway One!!

They MUST come out with some new finishes....I have all the old ones!!
