Photos like that in your signature were recently banned on strat-talk.com. They really have no purpose here, either.

Could you give me the years and models of your Strats. I felt that having 5 Strats was too much, but you have me beat.

I just got my '01 Clapton Strat back after being at my best friend's house for months. What a great guitar. I having not seen for so long I hadn't noticed how much it's starting to look road worn. The clear coat on the neck has darkened and is starting to wear down to the wood. The pick guard is no so white as it once was and I'm beginning to see the wood seems in the paint. I took the guitar apart and saw that the paint color hasn't changed any. Also I checked out the build dates. Every part of the guitar was built in late '00, but I received it in Feb '01. I believe it's was built just before Fender changed the pickups.

I only have names on 3 guitars:my lefty black"Monterey" Strat-strung right-is called Jimi for obvious reasons,My wine Les Paul Trad. Pro is named Lucy in honor of George Harrison's ex-Clapton Les Paul-it sounds the same,my '66 Gretsch Tennessean is called George for obvious reasons.I refer to my '65 Strat simply as "The Baby".

Anybody still name their guitars?

Most seem to have girls names, but i was thinking of naming my main gigging strat recently and i came to realise i think of it as a male guitar. I dont feel like im caressing a lady when im playing it, more like bonding with a trusted friend.

As its a two tone sunburst strat and im a big buddy holly fan, i was thinking of naming it `charles`, after his birth name charles hardin holly. Buddy seems too obvious and impersonal.

Anyone else got any guitar names and stories that go with them?
i am a buddy holly fan too. i wish holly didint get on that plane. maybe i could try and buy his strat from the museum its in now

I call my Strat "Midnite," because it's all black (body, pickguard, and pups). And she's definitely female!!!

I don't really name my gitars. I have may "black strat" and my "purple strat" and my "amber LP". I have my "rosewood Martin, and my "KOA Martin".

Guess I'm not too original.
