Post subject: What is my new guitar that is incoming?

This isn't your typical request. I'm honestly absolutely jiggered.

1) It's a Strat.
2) It's got an American Deluxe serial number, and it was made in '05.
3) It has an ebony fretboard with no markers.
4) It has an LSR nut.
5) It has S1 switching, but with chrome knobs.
6) It's black, with a blackface headstock, chrome logo and black scratchplate & pickups.
7) It has the contour heel, which suggests a true American Deluxe HSS.

Anyone care to shed any light on this? I thought the Designer Edition came with a rosewood fretboard and fret markers, for that matter. Pics to come...

... and here are the pics I care to show for now. Not received it yet- will get some decent ones when it arrives...

Probably the blackest Strat ever to grace the planet, chrome knobs notwithstanding. Potential Vader special edition..?

Very stealthy. I like it, but I'm not sure I'd like not having markers. How does an ebony fret board feel?

Ebony is like an angel rubbing your fingertips while you're sitting on a cloud jamming with Hubert Sumlin and Django Reinhart... :lol:

Ok, it's not that good, but I had ebony on a G&L Nighthawk and that was the nicest fretboard I've ever felt...dang, I wish I never sold that guitar, but...gotta eat and make house payments. :cry:

That looks like a FSR guitar to me, but I may be wrong (it's happened before, believe it or not! :P )...when you get it, contact Fender Customer Service and give them the serial number and they can tell you what you have...

It's a beauty, though--I like the "blackout" look. Congrats on your new acquisition!

Fender Special Run "None more black"
Basically a black USA HSS deluxe but with ebony neck and differnt knobs and pickguard :D

Breaking that for parts is a crazy idea. I'd get one of the Fender Meguiar's Instrument Care Kits and polish all of the swirl marks out of it. Then it WILL look like Darth Vader's guitar.

Funny you should mention that. It looks like my immaculate Lone Star will be on the chopping block instead... :oops:

It was a special run for the movie (this is spinaltap). The none more black statocaster , it's kinda funny cause they did a special run for Jackson guitars at the same time.
