Recently purchased used 2000 Am Deluxe Fat Strat - My first Fender (Gibson guy for 30 years) - and am curious about trem arm. This is designed to be pop in and pop out but is the arm supposed to just flop around?

Makes for interesting mental and physical gymnastics when trying to use - especially with stomp boxes, one more thing to think about. :?

I had an Am Deluxe and got used to the trem arm pretty quick. It just falls out of the way when not needed and it's actually pretty easy to grab once you get the hang of it. I just reached down with my pinky and ring fingers and pulled it up into my hand, no problem.

i've got a screw in tremolo arm, and i'll often leave it loose so it'll drop outta the way - same as the pop-ins

Thanks guys, It's good to know. I thought that there might be something wrong. Looks like I'll have to learn a new skill! :)

Just be careful not to do a Pete Townshend propeller move and impale your hand on it! 8)

LOL! I'll remember to do that only on my Gibsons and save a limb.
